WESGO was founded in 1972 at Erlangen/Germany. This company has its origin at Belmont/California, a site that
has existed since 1927.
In 1991, WESGO was acquired by The Morgan Crucible Company plc. and changed the name to WESGO Ceramics GmbH.
Since 1994 WESGO Ceramics GmbH has produced technical ceramic components in a new facility with tailor-made layout. The company received DIN EN ISO 9001 certification in 1996 and established the Six Sigma quality concept two years later. Since 2004, our site
has been DIN
EN ISO 14001 approved.
Today, highly qualified employees are fulfilling our customers' demands for technical alumina components used in many different applications. Very innovative parts, e.g. the first alumina laser cavity or plasma chambers for the ion engine, were developed in close co-operation with well known market leaders. WESGO produces to customer's specification both bare and metallised parts for subsequent brazing operations.
